Technology Assistant

FLSA Status: Nonexempt, 226 Days
Reports to: Director of Technology
Primary Purpose:
Assist and support the efficient operation of the Technology Department. Deliver timely and effective technology
services to all campuses and administrative departments. Perform on-site support and respond to Technology
Department work order requests.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Clear and valid driver’s license
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Basic knowledge of technology, terminology, processes and updates.
Broad knowledge of computer hardware and software applications.
Knowledge of various operating systems (Windows 10, Windows 11, Chrome, Apple)
Knowledge of Chromebook and Apple devices.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Applications (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
Ability to utilize technology for office management efficiency.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the use of a computer.
Ability to prioritize projects and strong problem solving skills.
Assist technicians with detecting and resolving technical or technology-related problems.
Ability to operate personal computers, Chromebooks, iPads and educational software.
Capacity to take ownership for work-process and be accountable.
Ability to work with students and teachers effectively.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Administrative
1. Provide general administrative and clerical support.
2. Maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems.
3. Answer incoming calls, take reliable messages and route to appropriate staff.
4. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
5. Maintain and compile the district equipment and technology parts/supplies inventory.
6. Prepare quotes and purchase orders upon request for technology and miscellaneous hardware.
7. Open/sort and distribute incoming technology shipments per technology budget purchase requests.
8. Compile cost estimates and maintain purchase order requests for district printer supplies.
9. Assist with onboarding new staff members including IDs and technology orientations.
10. Update and manage the district webpage portal.
Inventory
11. Maintain accurate inventory of hardware, software, and other equipment and material at assigned site(s).
12. Identify, request and control the inventory of equipment and repair parts.
Technical Support
13. Receive technology work order requests and assist end-users to resolve problems relating to computer and
technology related services.
14. Work cooperatively with staff to assist with logins and passwords and general troubleshooting.
15. Provide immediate on-site assistance to campus staff with technology problems and questions per helpdesk
tickets.
16. Assist with deployment, installation, and technology equipment upgrades. Relocate technology hardware,
peripherals, and equipment as needed.
17. Help implement and maintain district wide security for all systems by assisting with maintaining hardware and
software updates.
18. Service equipment according to an established preventative maintenance schedule. Maintain accurate updated
records of preventative maintenance.
19. Process warranty information and repair work with the associated documentation.
20. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on technical devices as needed.
21. Maintain and schedule recycle service/pick-up for end of life equipment.
22. Responsible for technical support and completing technology-related work orders.
Other
23. Ensure that technology services are supportive of the instructional goals of the district.
24. Maintain confidentiality.
25. Take every reasonable precaution to prevent unnecessary or unauthorized access to any passwords, user
identifications, or other information that may be used to access information system
26. Assist in the development of the district technology plan.
27. Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.
28. Work cooperatively with district personnel, parents, teachers, staff and community.
29. Promote a harmonious work environment in the Technology Department, as well as district-wide.
30. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; regular kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
Motion: Repetitive hand motion; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist
flexion/extension, reaching; may climb ladders.
Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 44 pounds); occasional heavy lifting (45 pounds and over).
