What You’ll Do

As a Technician/Inventory Coordinator for REMPREX you will support the department through ensuring proper inventory of parts to meet company need. You will manage a database to meet distribution needs and ensure efficiency through proper testing of all parts, materials, and technology in stock. The Technician/Inventory Coordinator will build relationships with remote sites and the regional warehouse to confirm proper inventory of hardware and operations equipment. The role provides ample opportunity for growth in technology acumen and hands-on work.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and distribute Inventory Dashboard for management review
  • Update the inventory system by utilizing weekly maintenance audits and ensure day-to-day inventory replenishment
  • Perform comprehensive testing and inspection of parts to identify defects or malfunctions
  • Record and document test results accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain a clean and organized testing area
  • Ensure inventory levels at all locations are within the required parameters
  • Determine the lifespan of parts and replacement options
  • Process pick-up and delivery tickets by pulling and dispatching parts to the appropriate location
  • Perform appropriate computer and inventory transactions as required
  • Develop and maintain key control reports (such as Return Material Authorization (RMA) reports) to document all steps in the RMA process 
  • Provide REMPREX and its vendors with metrics on RMA performance
  • Process the end-to-end RMA cycle (Receiving bad parts from Field Service Technicians, provide RMA information to vendors, ship and track parts, and place the received parts back in the inventory).
  • Reduce inventory levels and RMA costs by ensuring both REMPREX and its vendors are properly managing all RMA parts
  • Unload freight from delivery carriers, check incoming shipments for mishandling and damages, and note all damages to the carrier
  • Assist with shipping materials to customers, distribution allocation, repair facilities, and vendors and notify the appropriate party of any discrepancies
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by department management

What You’ll Need

  • 2+ years of experience in a technologically advanced environment which includes:
    • Testing of devices
    • Troubleshooting systems and equipment
    • Repairing and replacing faulty parts/equipment
  • 2-5 years of customer service and/or service industry experience
  • Previous experience managing inventory
  • Ability to work independently and manage a workload with competing priorities
  • Familiarity with inspecting, analyzing, and troubleshooting systems and equipment
  • Proficient skill in word processing, typing, and email applications.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel and utilizing spreadsheets for tracking and reporting
  • Ability to problem solve and ask thoughtful questions to create solutions
  • Active-listening skills with the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively
  • Proven ability to function as part of a team and build relationships
  • Previous experience running tests and interpreting results to make effective recommendations
  • Ability to pass and maintain certifications or proficiencies in the following areas:

    • eRAILSAFE Certification

    • REMPREX and Client Safety Rules and Regulations
