Position Summary: This position shares responsibility with local factory management for assuring compliance to Nestle Purina Quality and Food Safety Standards to ensure food safety and high quality of pet foods manufactured at the Edmond factory. This position has a responsibility for the development, managing, reviewing, and enforcing the Pathogen Monitoring program (PMP). The PMP program includes microbiological analysis of finished product and environmental samples and communications of testing results throughout the organization.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Compile and report Vidas test and Enteriobacteriacae (EB)/Salmonella test information on finished product and environmental samples daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Perform activities such as chemical labeling, aseptic sampling, environmental sampling, EB testing, pathogen sampling and analysis, line sampling, LAD sampling and testing, finished product sampling, aerobic plate count analysis, yeast mold analysis, etc.
  • Enter test results in the BDE system and perform nutritional and metal detection verification before product release.
  • Understand and properly utilize the hold product database and Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Follow the Internal Control Plan and ensure compliance with relevant procedures.
  • Compile and report LAD - Total plate count and Yeast & Mold petrifilm counts weekly.
  • Generate and manage assigned excel reports and other reference tools such as the factory profile tool (FPT) and formal release to populate max and medium control spreadsheet.
  • Complete and document weekly and monthly lab equipment audits and calibrations, including Volumes and Temperatures, Autoclave validation, etc.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

Education: High School Diploma or GED required. 2 year degree in a science-related area of study or food safety experience preferred.

Experience: 1+ years of laboratory experience or 2+ years of experience in a food manufacturing environment.

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $39,000.00 - $57,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
