Position Summary
A Technician B is needed to provide general research support in a lab focused on translational biology, specifically focusing on molecular biology, stem cell culture, stem cell differentiation, cardiomyocyte characterization and mouse models of heart disease. The research in the lab will span standard molecular biology techniques, protein and gene expression, cell culture and in vitro experimentation, and animal model work.
Responsibilities
- Organization and preparation of the research lab.
- Setting up and calibrating equipment.
- Carrying out fully planned experiments.
- Preparation of solutions and common reagents.
- Interpretation of data and keeping records of results.
- Ordering and maintaining laboratory supplies, chemicals and equipment.
- Performing other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Applicant must be willing to work with live animals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior lab experience with tissue culture, animal models, and standard molecular biology techniques preferred.
Other Requirements
- The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made.
- Participation in the medical surveillance program.
- Must successfully complete systems training requirements.
