Summary/Objective: The Field ServicesTechnical Trainer is responsible for providing high level technical training to ES&S Field Services Technicians, Employees, Contractors, Vendors and Customers under the Certified Technician Program. The Technical Trainer develops curriculum and syllabi designed to educate employees on hardware installation, testing, maintenance, and repairs. This position requires formal training and/or previous experience in electro-mechanical principles. Additionally, this position requires the ability to gain product and system knowledge.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrate strong presentation skills and knowledge of instructor led classroom and/or on-line computer-based training (CBT) that support the full array of product lines and services among customers and employees.
  2. Develops, implements, and maintains training curriculum & lesson plans for the entire suite of ES&S products installed, maintained, and repaired by Field Services personnel.
  3. Oversees all aspects of customer Certified Technician Program.
  4. Ensures that Field Service Technicians have received training for each facet of their position including administrative, customer relations, product operation, maintenance, and repair processes and procedures.
  5. Conduct needs analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning for both internal and external stakeholders. Help promote and ensure continuous improvement of department resources through feedback and evaluation processes.
  6. Provides support and technical expertise to all Field Services technicians.
  7. Collaborates with Field Services Regional Managers and Engineering to develop and update installation, preventive maintenance checklists and procedures. Checklists must be uniform in layout, comprehensive and in a logical sequence.
  8. Schedules, coordinates, and conducts training classes.

Travel: Approximately 65% travel annually is expected.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or certification in Adult Learning or Instructional Design; or equivalent/related experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years as an ES&S Field Services Technician or related experience.
  • Experience in adult education, presenting technical information, and coaching.
  • Coordination of multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Management of complex software products in a technical environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Advanced knowledge of adult education principles and techniques; consisting of classroom, online, and on-the-job training. Ability to conduct classroom coaching and training, communicating effectively and establishing positive working relationships.


Licenses/Certifications Required: Certification in Adult Learning and/or instructional design or equivalent preferred.


Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities, but closely collaborates with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.


Work Environment: This job operates in a variety of environments consisting of; professional office and warehouse environments with exposure to conditions that may be non-climate-controlled. This job may also be exposed to equipment, noise and tools that may be hazardous.


Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to stand, sit or bend for extended periods of time. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 85 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
