Position Overview:  

This individual will work closely with a team of brokers and have the responsibility for ensuring that all compliance requirements have been met and all documentation adheres to BMS policies regarding reinsurance placements.  He/She will provide support to account team members on assigned accounts using proprietary applications as well as standard applications to help ensure accuracy, efficiency and internal/external client satisfaction.  The role will monitor key activities to promote best practices and compliance with quality and/or regulatory driven procedures. As this team is growing rapidly, we intend to build out this team. This role will be responsible for the recruitment and leadership of a team of other Technical Support colleagues.

 

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Track/document reinsurance placement per BMS compliance standards:
    • Complete BMS Compliance Checklist and have oversight on all related requirements (Due Diligence for new company requests, BORs, client direction letters, disclaimers, etc.) for new and renewal reinsurance placements.  
    • File and label key correspondence and documents associated with a reinsurance placement as required per BMS' Compliance Checklist.
    • Ensure adherence to procedures
  • Create marketing lists containing key financial information as requested by broker team using internal application and/or AmBest and SNL rating websites.  
  • Create/update exhibits (such as reinsurance structure, loss triangles, loss/premium bordereaux reports, contract summary of terms, market financial reports, etc.) for underwriting submissions, presentations, client confirmation packages, etc. using applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and BMS Group Applications.  
  • Act as a dedicated Power User of internal CRM
    • Responsible for keeping CRM updated so that revenue projections, pipeline reports and activity reports are as accurate as possible.
    • Enter and maintain new prospect opportunities, complete new company request forms, file forms, run reports and distribute to team regularly and upon request.
  • Set up/maintain internal and external file sharing folders via ShareFile application website and by coordinating with BMS IT team as necessary.  
  • Organize and maintain shared office folders to be a local source of templates, forms, e-mail examples, or anything upon request; to be easily accessed by the team.
  • Assist broker team in various ways upon request to help ensure accurate and efficient work products: proofreading, preparing draft e-mails to clients/markets, projects, liaison to accounting/claims dept. on any issues, liaison with contract wording department and monitor status of requested contract changes, etc.
  • In near term, recruit and lead a team of other Technical Support colleagues

 

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
    • Experience in the placement and negotiation of various lines of business including but not limited to - Property & Casualty, and Financial/Professional Lines
  • Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • Ability to effectively contribute and collaborate with team and interact with others
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically Teams, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Strong communication skills, the ability to communicate effectively (written & verbal at all levels)
  • Interest and ability to manage a team

Depending on the experience of the candidate and the geogtaphic location, the salary range will be between $100,000 to $175,000. The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide marker range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary advanced to the desired candidate will be based on a number of factors, including geographic location and the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the desired candidate.
