Job Description
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Activities may include, but are not limited to:
Technical Support
- Technical phone and onsite support to the sales team and customers; diagnose, machine or printer problems, provide instructions to repair and provide correct part numbers for replacement parts.
- Inspect machines and printers returned for repair. Troubleshoot to identify the cause of failure. Provide customer service with a written estimate of repair parts needed and estimate labor time for customer approval.
- Work with Engineering to maintain and provide machine manuals, provide technical documentation and replacement instructions for obsolete parts.
- Ability to modify existing equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as defined by predetermined diagrams and sketches.
- Uses hand and small power tools and various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties.
- Work with inspection to identify faulty parts or assemblies.
- Testing of new electronics to ensure their efficiency in new and existing equipment.
- Research, recommend and test viable replacement parts, if parts become obsolete.
- Test and inspect all new printers, enter serial numbers into the system and prepare for sale.
- Repair production machines in the Supply Department, as needed.
- Attend trade shows to answer technical questions, maintain show equipment and provide support.
General Duties
- Deliver timely and accurate analytical results and technical reports as required.
- Recommends modifications to existing, or suggests new, standards, methods and procedures
- Miscellaneous clerical tasks, eg. conversion to Google & post
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
- 0 - 2 years of experience in related field.
- Demonstrates knowledge of procedures and equipment.
- Ability to read wiring schematics and flow charts.
- Good electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Ability to travel 5% of the time.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED. Associates Degree in applicable Engineering Technology or Technical Certification preferred.
