Form of workAvion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for a Technical Publications Specialistto support the Utility Helicopter Program Office. This position is based in Huntsville, AL, and is contingent upon award.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
- Serves as Technical Publications Specialist in support of the Lakota Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) Technical Data Division (TDD) in support of the Utility Helicopter Program Office.
- The duties will take place on Redstone Arsenal and teleworking, involving analyzing, developing, creating, and updating Extensible Markup Language (XML) for Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM) and page-based Technical Publications.
- The position will include, but not be limited to, conducting research and analysis of provided source data and interpreting data into usable XML for use in LUH Technical Publications.
- Ensure that Technical Publications comply with required specifications and/or military standards.
- Work with equipment specialists, illustrators, engineers, customers, and team members to produce and/or update the LUH IETMs. Ensure that Technical Publications comply with required specifications and/or military standards (MIL-STD-40051-1A, MIL-STD-40051-1B, MIL-STD-63029, MIL-STD-38784, MIL-HDBK-1222, MIL-HBK-2361, etc.).
- Convert source data to updated Military Standards.
- Convert source data in various formats (Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML), Word Documents, PDFs, etc.) to XML.
- Provide quality, accurate, and timely XML electronic data integration and analysis.
- Comply with internal processes and procedures to ensure quality control.
- Utilize configuration management software and comply with configuration management processes to maintain historical documentation.
- Comply with Statement of Work (SOW), schedules, and unique LUH program procedures/ requirements. Must work cohesively with the publication team and government customers.
- Perform peer reviews, tabletop reviews, validations, and verifications. No travel is required for this position.

Required Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree with 8 years. or High School Diploma with 13 years of experience.
- Experience working with Extensible Markup Language (XML) files.
- Review/analyze technical data received from vendor/OEM about the LUH.
- Proficiency with Arbortext Editor, Interactive Authoring and Display System (IADS), and UltraEdit software.
- Provide clear and concise communication within a cohesive team environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be a US Citizen and have/able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Aviation field background
- Familiar with GCCS-A and FEDLOG
- Quality Control or Production Control background a plus
- Ability to intelligently brief and converse with all levels of leadership
