Technical Illustrator-Huntsville, Al

DirectViz Solutions is rapidly growing government contractor that provides strategic IT services that meet mission needs for government customers. We are hiring a Technical Illustrator for our Publication Services Division on a new 5 year prime contract. This position is located in Huntsville, AL. and requires a Secret clearance or US citizenship and the ability to obtain an interim clearance.

Job Description:

• Applicant should have the ability to create, edit, and maintain in a database, detailed technical equipment illustrations produced from photographs, engineering drawings, existing illustrations and/or physical inspection of the actual equipment.
• The technical illustrations produced will be in a specific format for use in Army Publications created by utilizing various CAD software programs.
• All illustrations are to be created within the specifications and standards provided by the Government, and through the guidance of specific style sheets matching the software.
• Applicants must have the capacity to work individually, or in a group setting on shared work packages.
• Candidate will be required to provide a portfolio of related illustrations.

Desired Technical Experience:

• Experience using Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software applications.
• Must have experience in CAD based software such as CorelDraw Technical Illustrator, AutoCAD, or IsoDraw.
• Knowledge of 3D CAD modeling is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to interface with the customer and resolve any graphical specifications through discussion and/or problem solving.
• Must have working knowledge of Photoshop for the manipulations of images.

• Be able to maintain awareness during scheduled working hours
• Prolonged periods sitting or standing at desk and working on a computer (mouse and keyboard)
• Able to lift up to 15 pounds
• Excellent verbal and written communication; good command of the English language
