JOB SUMMARY:
UT Southwestern Medical Center has an opening within the Revenue Cycle Department team for a Technical Denials Management Specialist I. You will be responsible for contacting third-party payers via website and/or phone regarding reimbursement of accounts exceeding thirty (30) days or more with no response; incumbent will ensure insurance demographics are accurate, if applicable, update billing information, re-bill claim and document the status of work performed; position is also responsible for billing secondary/tertiary claims along with providing supporting documentation to payers for additional payment.
This is a work from home (WFH) opportunity, however, the successful applicant must live within the state of Texas and also be available to come to the office for equipment pickup exchange, office meetings, and training, etc. Additional details in regard to WFH shall be discussed as part of the interview process.

EXPERIENCE | EDUCATION:REQUIRED:
High School Diploma
And one (1) year administrative or customer service experience required
One (1) year medical claims recovery and/or collections experience preferred.
JOB DUTIES:
Responsible for outbound calls and/or status inquiries via payer’s website validating receipt of medical claims.
Verifies insurance.
Update insurance demographics and rebill claims not received.
Documents all work and calls performed.
Obtain primary and/or secondary EOB and CMS 1500 to bill next responsible payer.
Utilize various internal resources to obtain medical records to respond to requests from the third party payers for additional information.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Work is performed primarily in office area.
