Job description

Harmonytech Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Architect to join our team. As a Technical Architect, you will serve as the manager of complex technology implementations, driving continuous reengineering and refactoring to achieve the simplest and most elegant system solutions that meet the desired needs. You will be responsible for architecting the overall system, leveraging prototyping and proof of concepts, while working closely with a multi-disciplinary team in an agile environment.

The position is available in Washington, DC, requires a Public Trust Clearance, and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and design the overall system, employing modern programming languages (e.g., Ruby, Python, Node.js) and web frameworks (e.g., Django, Rails), to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
  • Utilize your expertise in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and "NoSQL" databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB) to design efficient data storage and retrieval systems.
  • Implement automated configuration management tools (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt), continuous integration/deployment, and continuous monitoring solutions to ensure efficient and reliable system deployments.
  • Collaborate with the team to integrate modern front-end web programming techniques (e.g., HTML5, CSS3, RESTful APIs) and frameworks (e.g., Twitter Bootstrap, jQuery) into the system's user interface.
  • Apply version control systems, specifically Git and GitHub, to manage source code and facilitate collaborative development.
  • Ensure strategic alignment of technical design and architecture with business growth and direction, staying updated on emerging technologies.
  • Decompose business and system architecture to facilitate clean-interface multi-team development.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a manager of complex technology implementations, emphasizing reengineering, configuration management, and build management.
  • Proficiency in Maven, Hudson, and/or Jenkins, along with Oracle.
  • Extensive knowledge of modern programming languages (e.g., Ruby, Python, Node.js) and web frameworks (e.g., Django, Rails).
  • Familiarity with modern front-end web programming techniques (e.g., HTML5, CSS3, RESTful APIs) and frameworks (e.g., Twitter Bootstrap, jQuery).
  • Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and "NoSQL" databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB).
  • Experience with automated configuration management tools (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt), continuous integration/deployment, and continuous monitoring solutions.
  • Proficient in version control systems, specifically Git and GitHub.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team, sharing knowledge and working within agile methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to architect elegant solutions.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience will be considered.

If you are interested and feel that you would excel in the position, we invite you to apply. During this phase of our recruiting effort, we will not be able to accept telephone calls. Only those candidates meeting the requirements will be contacted. No recruiters please.
