1: Provides support of the application stack; deploy and maintain the migration to new technology platforms. Collaborate with IT, CDC and Business SMEs to document the Ecosystem. Provide user support for applications and components - including troubleshooting and issue management (logging, sequence/escalation, and resolution). Assist team members in the planning and analysis of user requirements, procedures, and issues encountered. Assist all stakeholders with architecting, designing, and implementing new software applications and in the improvement of existing applications. Investigate problems to identify the root cause in a timely manner. Assess the system to identify opportunities for technical improvement. Ensure data has undergone cleansing to ensure it is both correct and useful. Ensure that the development of system interfaces and workflows are in alignment with program work processes and business requirements. (45%)
2: Perform troubleshooting and resolution of operational and tracking of incidents. Prepares application specifications. Reviews and evaluate programming efforts by developers, vendors, and CDC in relation to program specifications and system requirements. Serves as a SME for questions and problems from customers and vendors. Assists in developing strategic plans for the continuous improvement of the application stack. Prepare management level reports, such as priority lists, quarterly reports, and operating plan. Advise team leadership of the status and progress of projects and other tasks being conducted. (30%)
3: Oversees the maintenance of existing applications; monitors the resolution of problems related to software development and/or maintenance of the ecosystem; insures the preparation of system level documentation for use by staff and system users. Coordinates projects and maintenance activities with other IT Units as needed. Interfaces effectively with IT and customers to provide automated solutions to problems. Consults with IT and customers on software/hardware purchases. Reviews software/hardware justifications and requisitions and makes recommendations. Facilitates project meetings. Prepares and makes presentations as needed. (20%)
4: Other duties as assigned. Applicants must have 3 years of experience as a Systems Analyst or Developer.
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to the assignment preferred. Related work experience may substitute for the education on a year for year basis with a maximum substitution of four (4) years.
This position can telework full time from any location in Texas consistent with HHS telework policies. Applicants from outside Texas must be willing to relocate within 60 days of hire.
