About the role
We are looking for a knowledgeable, detail-oriented, well-rounded technical supervisor to join our team and work within a retail and event space. Cheil manages the event space which has full production broadcast facilities with a mainstage, LED video wall, lighting rig, house PA and multi-camera PTZ setup. The responsibilities of the technical supervisor include event resource management, AV technical team management, content management and AV equipment management and fill in as AV technician as needed.
To be successful as a technical supervisor, you should have experience assembling, operating, and repairing equipment used for multimedia production and good organizational skills. A great technical supervisor is creative, flexible, and detail-oriented, with good communication and teamwork skills.
Since this is a retail facility, working hours are aligned with store opening hours and event hours. This is a full-time salaried position with full benefits.
Event management:
- Attend event meetings
- Determine required technical team to execute event
- Assign event AV responsibilities to AV team members
- Create event run of show
- Send event call sheet to event crew prior to event date outlining responsibilities
- Supplement AV team and support responsibilities when required.
- Send post-event wrap up to stakeholders.
Resource management:
- Scheduling of crew
- Processing of overhire crew invoices, ensuring agreement with budget and scope
- Consolidate and verify costs per event for AV team
- Content management:
- Receipt of content through stakeholders
- Test and evaluate content, provide feedback to stakeholders
- Transfer post event video capture and content to archive format(s)
AV Equipment Management:
- Supervise AV team assessing AV equipment in need of repair and maintenance
- Secure quotes for repair of equipment, negotiate rates and fees
- Schedule work calls for any equipment requiring outside vendors to repair and maintain.
- Oversee outside vendors while on premises
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- In-depth working knowledge of camera, lighting, audio, video and playback techniques.
- Strong working knowledge of audiovisual editing equipment and software.
- Excellent computer and troubleshooting skills.
- Creativity, attention to detail, and flexibility.
- Strong team leadership acumen
- Constantly move and position self to move and maintain AV equipment plus sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- The ability to accurately communicate and exchange information and ideas so others will understand in different environments and situations.
- The ability to observe details at different ranges to properly maintain AV needs.
- Familiarity with any of the following systems a plus: Vmix, Analog Way, ETC Lighting, Lutron, Yamaha QL Series, Dante Audio, Brightsign, SmartThings, Aquilon, QSys, Evertz, Ross Carbonite, Paradigm, d&B, JBL, Panasonic PTZ Cameras, BlackMagic Cameras, Sony Cameras, Samsung Commercial LFD and LED.
The salary range for this role in NY is $65000 - 75000. Your final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
