Atlas Search is a cloud service that allows users to execute complex search queries using the MongoDB Query Language. Our users are free to focus on relevance and data retrieval instead of the machinery needed to search data at scale.
The Atlas Search team is building the best search experience for developers on the MongoDB platform. Atlas Search and Atlas Vector Search are embedded in MongoDB Atlas to give you a seamless, scalable experience for building relevance-based app features.
This role is based in the SF Bay Area - hybrid in office and remote and will report to the Director of Engineering, Search Systems.
Ideally you will be:- You are proficient in modern programming languages and techniques, with an interest in working in MongoDB, Java, React and Typescript
- You have experience building tools and platforms for software developers
- You enjoy working on full stack applications, including UI/UX, API Design, databases and search
- You are looking for a high impact role in a young software project with high rates of adoption
- You are passionate about developing reliable high quality software
- Lead and grow a team of engineers
- Foster a positive and effective team culture
- Work closely with other Atlas Search teams who are building the core search engine (mongot), as well as other teams in Atlas
- Participate in product and architecture discussions
- Perform code reviews with peers and make recommendations on how to improve our code and software development processes
- Collaborate with other teams including cloud services, database, enterprise tools, drivers and support to coordinate changes or contribute to their projects
- In 3 months, you'll familiarize yourself with your team members and contribute to the improvement of our core Mongo Management Service repo
- In 6 months, you'll be leading a team of engineers and working on platform and architecture improvements
- In 12 months, you'll be building out your team by hiring new engineers and contributing to a long term product and engineering roadmap
