Position Summary. Performs routine cardiovascular diagnostic studies, and completes clerical duties associated with these procedures.  Responsible for management of remote pacemaker downloads, administrating treadmill stress test, event/holter monitors, and 12 lead electrocardiograms. Procedures include but are not limited to 12 lead electrocardiogram, stress testing, holter monitor scanning, and event monitor placement.

  • Accurately prepares diagnostic recordings for physician interpretation, and notify physician of any urgent diagnostic matters. Contacts patient to follow up on issue and schedules for follow-up as needed.
  • Performs basic cardiology procedures to include EKG, holter/event monitor application and scanning, and routine stress testing following established protocols.
  • Registers patients online for monitors, enters testing data in to the computer, schedules patient reminders for downloads on pacemakers and keeps track of those downloads.

Qualifications

Education Knowledge, Skills, Licensure, Training and Travel (if applicable): 

 

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrocardiology,  Exercise Science, or similar program or equivalent formal training. 
  • Courses completed in pacemaker/defibrillator training.  College level courses in anatomy, physiology and medical terminology preferred.
  • Must successfully demonstrate cardiology competencies required. 
  • BLS certification by the AHA required.
