The Department of Principal Quality (DPQ) is charged with identifying, developing, supporting, and retaining strong principal leaders who are committed to actualizing that vision. Working under the Director of School Leader Transitions, the Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the team's essential functions. This position entails close collaboration with the team's data analyst to extract insights from data, recognize trends and patterns, and present these findings to team members and the Principal Eligibility Specialist to support the design and implementation of the Principal Eligibility Process.
Reporting to the Director of School Leaders of Transitions, the Team Coordinator of Transitions will have a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the enhancement of the Principal Eligibility Process and to the improvement of educational leadership within CPS schools. The Team Coordinator will have data-driven decision-making responsibility and will support the department's dedication to fostering a diverse and efficient school leadership pipeline.
This is a full-time position that will end effective June 30, 2024.
The Team Coordinator will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:

  • Assist in collecting and organizing data from diverse sources through surveys, interviews, or assessments.
  • Support the analysis of data using appropriate statistical techniques or software, generating meaningful insights and recommendations.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of spreadsheets, databases, and data systems to ensure the accuracy and accessibility of critical data.
  • Generate clear and concise reports, along with visualizations, to effectively present data findings to stakeholders, aiding comprehension and communication of insights.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of projects and initiatives; Actively participate in their implementation.
  • Develop and edit high-quality written and visual content for presentations, reports, emails, and other communications, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to organizational guidelines.
  • Provide general administrative support for the Transitions team.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Team Coordinator must possess the following qualifications:
Education Required:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required
    • Preferred field of study: Data Analysis, Education, Business or Non-Profit Administration or related field preferred

Experience Required:
  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience with spreadsheet management, database maintenance, data analysis, and utilizing data systems
    • (Internships or other direct experience may be considered)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated organizational and administrative abilities, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in data collection, management, analysis, and visualization techniques
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a proactive and self-driven approach to tasks and projects
  • Strong time management skills to organize tasks, establish priorities, and allocate time effectively, ensuring optimal productivity and efficiency

Conditions of Employment
As a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to:
  • Establish/Maintain Chicago Residency - Employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district. The Chicago residency requirement does not apply to temporary/part-time positions, however, all CPS employees must be residents of Illinois.
  • Be Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19 - Unless approved for a medical or religious exemption, all employees are required to be up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccinations, including boosters, and to submit proof of vaccination to the district within 30 days of hire. "Up-to-date" on vaccination is defined as being at least two weeks past all primary vaccine doses and any applicable boosters.
