Job Description

We refuse to be ordinary, so neither is this job description! We are searching for our very first Teaching and Learning Resident to streamline instructional supports for our partner schools and organizations.

EdLight’s Teaching and Learning Residency is a four month residency to bridge the exceptional experience of educational leaders with the skills needed to thrive at a high-growth EdTech startup. TLR’s are part-time members of the EdLight team and heavily collaborate with our CEO and Director of Special Projects. Teaching and Learning Residents will have daily opportunities to practice the skills and competencies required to lead successful technology-centered partnerships that drive equitable student outcomes for our invaluable school partners. The TLR program serves as a pathway to joining EdLight’s full-time Teaching and Learning team, pending successful completion of the residency, job openings, and an individual TLR’s readiness to jump in! Join us!

This is a 4 month residency, with a tentative start date of January 30, 2024.

Why We Need You:

EdLight is growing! We are currently looking for a Teaching & Learning (T&L) Resident to increase our aptitude to proactively support our partners, customers, and team of 50 superstar Math Instructional Specialists. With your manager Lindsay (Director of Special Projects) by your side, your work will play a vital role in both ensuring the success of our development sessions and streamlining the student work submission process. You will be responsible for preparing and leading professional learning sessions, owning communication with a subset of our partner schools/organizations, digging into data to fuel our efficiency, and managing student work submissions. Student work serves as the heartbeat of EdLight, so you are an invaluable addition to the team! Your role directly impacts the ability of our partners to use EdLight in their daily instructional practices.

Your Responsibilities - Crafted for Impact!

  • Planning and Implementing Professional Learning: Empower our partners and customers to use EdLight to its fullest by planning and executing professional learning sessions. 6. Actively identifying opportunities for improvements to partnership / PD offerings and communicate insights with key internal stakeholders
  • Student Work Submission Management: Take charge of managing work submissions from our partners and customers, ensuring a hassle-free process that respects the time and effort educators invest in their classrooms.

Skills & Experience You'll Bring:

  • Passionate about Math Education: You know high-quality Math instructional materials and can support partners in their implementation at the classroom and school level.
  • Proven Experience with Public Presentation: Particularly within professional learning communities and/or adult learners.

  • Flexibility & Remote Work: Embrace a flexible, remote working environment that respects your work-life balance.
  • Dynamic Team Culture: We are a small, yet agile and mighty team. If you are searching for a close-knit team of coworkers driven by educational equity and tech accessibility in schools, we hope that you reach out!
