The Department of Forest Engineering, Resources, and Management invites applications for an hourly student Teaching Assistant for Winter and Spring terms. The incumbent will assist the instructor with grading weekly submitted homework assignments per an established schedule and any other minor office tasks that may be assigned.
- Assist the instructor with grading submitted Microsoft Office application-based assignments (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and other minor office tasks as assigned.
- Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
- Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
- Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
- High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
- Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
- Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
- Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
- Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services ( USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services ( OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
- Student has a strong proficiency level with Microsoft Office 2016 or later.
- Student has passed a similar computer course using Microsoft Office 2016 or later.
- Student has taken one or more Microsoft Office based computer course(s) passing with a minimum grade of 'B'.
- Student has an advanced knowledge and proficient use of the Microsoft Office 2016 or later suite of software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Student has previous grading experience.
- Student is a Business, Engineering, or Forestry Major.
- Student is in their Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year or are Graduate candidates.
- Student applicant must have access to a reliable Windows based computer (or Macbook Pro running a Windows environment) with Microsoft Office 2016 or later installed. This can be a personal computer or University computer. This work can be performed outside of a regular office environment with minimal supervision.

Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
- Strong preference will be given to applicants who passed a similar computer course using Microsoft Office 2016 or later with a minimum grade of 'B'.
