Job Summary
The Teaching Artist Coordinator will assist the Director of Education and Community Engagement and the Director of Broadway Engagement Programs in Overture's Teaching Artist staff and associated administrative duties. Day-to-day will include oversight of communication and scheduling for both the Lullaby Project and the Disney Musicals in Schools programs. Both programs run during the traditional school year (September to May) and summer months are used as preparation and planning. For both programs, this position will also help with planning and executing professional development days for schoolteachers and Teaching Artists and visits during the residencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with Disney Musicals in Schools and Lullaby Project programs. Duties include daily communication with schools, community partners and Teaching Artists, application processing, site visits, special events and other administrative tasks.
  • Assist with planning and executing professional development days for schoolteachers and Teaching Artists and visits during the residencies. Analyze and assist with systemic advancements and changes. Provide administrative support for the Programming & Community Engagement Team.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required - Post secondary education preferred
  • Minimum of three years' of related professional, progressive experience working with or as a Teaching Artist or teacher. Project management, program support, outreach and office management skills desired.

  • Must be able to operate a computer and telephone
  • Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours per day
  • Required to work on a computer 5-7 hours per day

The wage for this role is $21.00/hr
