The Teaching and Learning Intern will assist the Office of Teaching and Learning in creating, enhancing, and facilitating professional development opportunities for faculty and course developers at partner institutions of The Community Solution Education System.
Under direct supervision of the Faculty Training Specialist, the Teaching and Learning Intern will serve as a consultant and facilitator for faculty professional development initiatives. The intern will curate and create resources related to effective teaching strategies, student engagement, educational communities, and best practices and research for online, traditional, and blended learning.
The intern will assist the Office of Teaching and Learning in building content for the Teaching and Learning Center, including an assessment repository and educational technology and Artificial Intelligence tools and tips. The intern will also collaborate in the creation and enhancement of faculty professional development courses and micro-credentials.
This is a remote opportunity. This is a paid part-time internship scheduled for 20 hours per week. This internship will begin in June 2024 and end in August 2024.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist Teaching and Learning staff in developing professional development course material by identifying appropriate classroom technologies and creating engaging content.
- Curate a repository of digital resources to be accessible by faculty.
- Research the trends and practices in higher education regarding online learning to facilitate the development of effective strategies and classroom activities.
- Other duties that may be assigned based on departmental or institutional needs.
Skills and Experience
- A graduate student in education (with a focus on adult or higher education), instructional design, educational technology, I/O or educational psychology (or equivalent).
- Experience creating content in learning management systems (LMS), such as Canvas, and educational technology platforms, including eLearning content development tools.
- An understanding of applied web standards and accessibility guidelines pertaining to higher education.
- Basic understanding of HTML and CSS within the LMS environment.
- Project management skills in a higher education distance-learning environment.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and demonstrated attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with others.
- Creativity and a proven willingness to experiment with new learning techniques and technologies.
