Job Overview:
General Description: This position is responsible for implementing specific curriculum to youth clients, ages 5 through 18 years.
Responsibilities:
Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job

• Implement curriculum for the academic development of assigned program clients based upon individualized education plans (IEP).
• Conduct client evaluations to assess educational needs.
• Maintain a consistent learning structure.
• Perform therapeutic limits, proactive interventions, and behavioral skills with clients.
• Demonstrate an understanding of cultural issues in the treatment process.
• Participate in treatment plans and goals of assigned clients.
• Utilize SEARHC's operations policies and procedures as well as SEARHC's personnel policies and procedures.
• Follow written protocol(s) from medical personnel regarding assigned clients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education,Certifications, and Licenses Required

• Alaska Teaching Certificate preferred.
• Current Alaska driver's license and auto insurance per standards.
• Adult/Child/Infant CPR and First Aid Certification.

Experience Required

• 2 years' experience working with SED youth.

Knowledge of

• Age-appropriate curriculum.
• Behavior problems.
• Side effects of therapeutic medication usage.

Skills in

• Oral and written communication.
• Organizing and prioritizing work.
• Basic use of Microsoft Office software.

Ability to

• Maintain a classroom setting.
• Identify risk situations for closer supervision.
• Respond to crises.
• Develop/implement behavioral contingency programs.
• Work as part of an integrated psycho-educational treatment program.
• Demonstrate an awareness and application of developmental theory.
• Contribute positively as a team member.
