Qualifications:
  • Applicant must be enrolled in Relay Education, Wilmington University, Delaware State University, or University of Delaware graduate program with a current letter of acceptance

Performance Responsibilities:
  • Fulfill all requirements of the educational program.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of PCA
  • Work directly under the guidance of the assigned Residency Mentor Teacher.
  • Support residency teacher in all aspects of classroom instruction and management.
  • Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  • Strive to implement by instruction and action the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
  • Continuously improve practice and strive to implement the most up-to-date and effective teaching strategies.
  • Collaborate with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives and methods.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relations with others.
  • Participate in professional growth activities and professional learning communities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment: Ten-month (10) assignment. Non-pension/benefit eligible position. Upon satisfactory execution of curriculum and pedagogical strategies, Providence Creek Academy shall recommend the resident for a full-time teaching role aligned to their certification area(s). The resident will follow all PCA procedures for new hire application.
Salary and Benefits: Residents will be paid a stipend over their 6 or 10 month assignment. Per the terms of employment stated above, the resident must secure employment the following school year or repay the amount to PCA.
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the intern's graduate program and standards set by Providence Creek Academy
