The Brearley School, an independent girls’ school serving over 770 students K-12, welcomes candidates for a full-time ongoing position as a Teacher of Writing and Learning Skills in the Middle and Upper School beginning August 2024.

Responsibilities include teaching three to four Middle School courses in the Learning Skills curriculum and giving one-to-one executive function support to Middle and Upper School students (classes 5-12).
The ideal candidate will:
- have a bachelor’s degree in the subject area; an advanced degree is preferred
- have three to five years of experience in teaching English Language Arts at the middle and/or high school levels
- have experience working with students in the area of executive functioning
- demonstrate strong skills in communication
- demonstrate the desire to work collaboratively and in consultation
- have a commitment to the education of girls
- understand the needs of students at various levels of intellectual and social development
- have competence in inclusive, anti-bias, anti-racist pedagogy

Salary
In 2023-24, the total full-time salary for this position ranges from $75,100 to $143,500 depending on experience. Salary ranges updated annually at the end of January.
