EMPLOYMENT TERM: 200 Days
SALARY: Based upon degree and experience on salary schedule (State & County)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have or obtain a WV Vocational Teaching permit or Certification in Graphic Design.

POSITION: Teacher, Graphic Design
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Building Administrator
EMPLOYMENT TERM: Minimum 200 days annually, pursuant to WV Code 18-5-45.
SALARY: Pursuant to WV Code 18A-4-2, in accordance with
Mason County Teacher Salary Schedule, commensurate with experience and education level
EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated by the building
principal/immediate supervisor and in accordance with WV State
Code 18A-2-12, WV State Board Policy 5310, and Mason County Board Policy
JOB SUMMARY: To teach the fundamentals of Graphic Design
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
In addition to all performance responsibilities for classroom teachers listed in WV code, the teacher will be responsible for the following:
Develop course outlines and lesson plans for a variety of Graphic Design courses.
Fundamentals of Graphic Design, Fundamentals of Illustration, Advanced Illustration, Advanced Graphic Design, Computer Graphics, etc.
Deliver, direct and supervise student learning, safety, rules, and discipline in the classroom/lab. Provide a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and relevant to the occupational work environment.
Reinforce basic skills and fulfill the requirements of an I.E.P.
Prepare students for required end of course testing and completer programs.
Maintain and/or obtain personal industry recognized accreditation/certification.
Obtain and maintain program industry recognized accreditation.
Participate in advising, guidance, and job placement for students in Graphic Design.
Maintain student records and submit grades and reports within established timelines.
Serve as an advisor for SkillsUSA.
Maintain shop/lab and equipment according to industry and safety standards.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have or obtain a WV Vocational Teaching permit or certification in Graphic Design.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff members.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Most commonly, the educational setting is indoors with outdoor settings for recess and field trip activities. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate (20-60 dB). Exceptions include gymnasiums as well as vocational/ technical laboratories where the noise levels may be moderate to loud (60-90 dB).
