Position Title: ESOL Teacher

Essential Duties:
- Provide appropriate instruction and educational services in ESOL to assigned students according to the guidelines of the program and through the established delivery model for service.
- Seek opportunities for professional development and enrichment in the teaching and learning of second 3languages, particularly English as a Second Language.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and assess the English Language Proficiency of each identified ELL and ELL-M student.
- Maintain prompt and professional communication with parents in all aspects of their child's English Language Services.
- Complete designated procedures for students referred for ESOL service and Title III services.
- Compile, maintain, and submit all required records and paperwork by the required deadlines.
- Serve as a resource and work collaboratively with the general education teachers who teach students with limited English proficiency.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator Certificate in ESOL or an ESOL endorsement with appropriatecontent.
- Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community.
- Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
- Must abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
- Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
- Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
- Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
- Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
- Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
