Job Overview:
Kid Zone Early Learning Center is seeking a dedicated Teacher's Aide to join our Hopkins (MN) based team. Established in 1989 as a non-profit organization, we have a rich history of educators and families working together to create a community focused on learning and healthy living. Our educational philosophy is centered on The Creative Curriculum, a play-based learning curriculum that allows teachers and children to explore and pursue their unique interests. What you'll do:
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to plan and implement fun and interesting educational activities using the Creative Curriculum
- Interact with the children to support play, exploration, and learning
- Support children to learn and think creatively, solve problems independently, and to respect themselves and others
- Assist in developing culturally appropriate programs and integrate DEI activities into weekly lesson plans as appropriate
- Maintain established routines, provide positive guidance and build children’s self-esteem
- Keep parents informed of program expectations, program activities, and their child’s progress
- Establish a warm and receptive environment in the classroom
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to maintain assessment records and observations using the Teaching Strategies GOLD Assessment
What you'll need:
- No Education requirement
- No Experience required, but some preferred
- An aide must be at least 16 years old (an aide who is under 18 years old must be directly supervised by a teacher or assistant teacher at all times except when the aide is assisting with the supervision of sleeping children or assisting children with washing, toileting, and diapering)
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally
- Report to work as scheduled and on time
- Ability to work with flexibility, efficiency and enthusiasm, both individually and as part of a team in a high-demand environment
- Love working outdoors and the willingness to work in various weather conditions
