What We Do...
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction has been tasked with front line crime reduction through rehabilitative treatment and programming efforts provided in a safe, secure and humane correctional environment and effective community supervision. Our goal is to protect the public through helping individuals turn away from crime and become productive, contributing members of our communities, ensuring a safer Ohio for all Ohioans now and in the future.

What You'll Do:
- Works under general direction and requires considerable knowledge of teacher education:
- Provides instruction in Graphic Arts and individual assistance
- Assesses educational needs of inmate
- Develops lesson plans to address those needs to include individual assignments and training
- Provides instruction and individual assistance
- Administers, scores, and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators
- Maintains discipline and/or security
- Counsels' students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems.
- Attends meetings as required
- Prepares required records and re-ports (e.g., enrollment, grades, student progress)
- Inventories and orders supplies and materials needed
- Researches, selects, and recommends new teaching materials.
- Attends in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development performs other duties as assigned
- Must conduct themselves professionally, and in a law-abiding manner, at all times and in accordance with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Standards of Employee Conduct.
