Responsibilities:
Assist customers with payment of property taxes, filling out forms and accepting forms with correct documentation
Answer phone calls and answer questions for tax payers and redirect to the appropriate department when necessary
Process and deliver tax certificates
Organize, file, scan and attach documents to accounts database
Process mail, pay mail, monitor office supplies and inventory
Assist in tracking address changes for returned mail
Process address changes
Assist customers with locating property on appraisal district online map
Assist all departments with filing and scanning
Performs other office duties as assigned by Chief Appraiser
Skills:
Good work ethic, communications skills and teamwork is a requirement
Must have cash handling experience
Must be responsible, motivated and willing to train and learn Property Tax Code and State Requirements of Appraisal District responsibilities
Must be comfortable with Word, Excel, and able to learn the District Database to run reports, search accounts and explain changes in billing of accounts
Must be dependable, timely, organized, proficient communicator in both speech and writing, and able to maintain a friendly, helpful disposition with co-workers and customers
Reliable attendance and punctuality is a requirement. The months of November through February are the busiest months of the year for this position.
Bilingual is a plus
Applicant cannot be related to any member of the Appraisal District Board of Directors or the Chief Appraiser
Applicant cannot be delinquent on property taxes
