In this role, you will stay abreast of technology trends and deliver innovative solutions, understanding the challenges of global tax processes and ensuring our systems and processes meet those needs. You will support the tax department as a system administrator and foster an environment of self-service. You will work to optimize data, technology, and digital infrastructures.
Responsibilities include:
Identify Tax Technology needs, including opportunities for process improvements, automation, efficiency gains and application of tax process and technology best practices through the use of existing and new technology.
Collaborate with tax and non-tax leadership on Tax Technology strategy and IT road mapping.
Support the determination of effort and skills required to implement solutions.
Give direction on how to leverage technology to solve business problems.
Develop strong and trusting relationships with internal cross-functional teams.
Serve as the go-to for tax in the transformation context, working across the organization to solve issues, address pain points, and implement growth initiatives.
Thoughtfully listen to internal tax SMEs in developing recommendations.
Provide program and project management, including managing system implementations, escalating and resolving issues and driving project completion in line with agreed-upon timelines.
Promote data as an asset and optimal use of modern technology and digital infrastructures. Design and develop reports and analytics for the tax function.
Drive timely and proactive issue identification, escalation, and resolution.
Develop system/process documentation, deliver end-user training, and document policies and procedures for effective use of Tax Technology.
Serve as system administrator for tax systems. Monitor and troubleshoot existing tax systems. Supervise and implement Tax Technology solutions and ensure ongoing maintenance of Tax Technology tools and processes, including user access rights, manage periodic updates/upgrades, and provide problem-solving and technical support for Tax Technology applications.
Coordinate and manage relationships with Tax Technology application vendors and consultants.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years’ experience in tax, accounting, finance or relevant area
Preferred qualifications:
Transformation initiative experience for large multinational corporation
2+ years experience completing cross-functional projects
Tax software applications experience (OneSource, Vertex, Avalara, PTMS)
Experience with tax software implementation or optimization (i.e. OneSource, CorpTax, etc.)
Strong understanding of financial data and financial data systems; experience with SAP, Business Objects, and BPC preferred
Demonstrated understanding and capabilities using data and analytical tools, including Excel, Alteryx, UiPath, and data visualization tools (Spotfire, Domo, Tableau, Power BI)
General understanding of tax concepts and tax lifecycle
Ability to investigate, strategize, and find innovative and creative solutions
Highly organized, capable of effectively managing competing priorities
Understanding of application portfolio, IT strategy and roadmap, and business priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience advocating for tax matters.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to be able to teach new technologies to team members who do not have a technology background.
Semiconductor industry experience is preferred
