Job Summary:
The Tax Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing and filing complex tax returns. You will be tasked with preparing tax returns, tax research and compiling supporting financial statements and responding to inquiries from regulatory agencies. You will also be responsible for training and reviewing returns prepared by lower level accountants.
Location: Valdosta, GA (on-site) Must reside and be able to reliably commute to Valdosta, Georgia
Salary: $65k - $85k/annually (to commensurate with experience)

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Preparation of individual and business income tax returns.
- Perform tax planning.
- Respond to regulatory agencies.
- Research tax issues and provide guidance and planning to clients.
- Develop and maintain professional rapport with clients.
- Preparation of financial statements.
- Provide training and assistance to lesser experienced accountants for accuracy and completion of tasks.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
- High attention to detail and accuracy; proactive, deadline-driven, and able to work independently.
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office suite and bookkeeping software, including QuickBooks.
- Advance proficiency in various accounting and tax software such as UltraTax and Fixed Assets.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Three (3) years or more of recent public tax experience
- CPA or EA required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
