Tax Payroll

Jefferson Wells is seeking Tax Accountants with a strong background in payroll tax, 1099 processing, and W2 processing. This is a remote project opportunity, paying W2 50- $85 hr.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Payroll Tax Management:**
+ Calculate, prepare, and file payroll tax returns, including federal, state, and local taxes.
+ Stay up-to-date with changing tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
+ Resolve any payroll tax-related issues and discrepancies.
**1099 and W2 Processing:**
+ Manage the preparation and distribution of 1099 forms for contractors and vendors.
+ Handle the accurate processing of W2 forms for employees.
+ Ensure compliance with reporting deadlines and regulations.
**Client Advisory:**
+ Provide expert advice to clients on payroll tax matters, including tax planning and compliance.
+ Assist clients with tax-related inquiries and help them understand their tax obligations.
**Record Keeping:**
+ Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, tax filings, and client correspondence.
+ Organize and manage all relevant documentation for audit purposes.
**Compliance and Reporting:**
+ Keep track of all relevant tax deadlines and ensure timely filings.
+ Prepare regular tax reports for clients and management.
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
+ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other relevant certification is a plus.
+ Proven experience in payroll tax management, 1099 and W2 processing.
+ Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
+ Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
