Tax Manager / Tax Senior - Not-For-Profit (Cpa Firm)

CPA firm hiring a Tax Manager and Tax Senior its Not-for-Profit practice.

Responsibilities:

· Strong experience with advising clients on complex tax questions related to all areas of their operations including potential unrelated business taxable income, foreign withholding and reporting requirements payroll, fringe benefits.

· Experience with managing all aspects of IRS audits of nonprofit clients from drafting IDR response to attending all meetings with the IRS, etc

· Identifies tax risk management issues and proposes potential solutions through research and collaboration with Engagement Partner

· Reviews tax procedures, engagement workpapers and financial statements without supervision

· Completes thorough review of tax workpapers on a timely basis and assures audit evidence is in accordance with firm's documentation standards

· Preparation and review primarily of 990, 990T, and related state tax filings, as well as preparation in other forms such as 990PF, -, and other tax compliance forms

· Experience in Tax Controversy work i.e. - researching and writing appeal protests to the IRS for clients on complex tax issues, reinstatement of tax exempt status and abatement of penalties and interest

· Addresses questions on advanced technical accounting matters from team members and upper level client management

· Oversees Seniors and Staff coordinating the day-to-day duties of planning, tax work, and wrap-up

· Performs a detailed review of team's workflow and monitors that tasks are assigned and completed on a timely basis; supervises, trains and mentors staff

· Acts as primary client contact and liaison for complex issues that staff are unable to resolve; communicates effectively with clients and develops positive relationships with client personnel

Qualifications:

· CPA license

· 3+ years’ experience in a similar role

· Prior experience managing engagements and clients

· Ability to work independently, but also work well with others

· Advanced knowledge of a minimum of 1-2 industry areas which the firm services

· 5+ years’ supervisory experience

· Experience with pass through entities, business structuring, and nonprofit

· Software Experience - CCH ProSystem, Microsoft Office 365
