Tax Intern
Job Description
This position will be responsible for assisting with administrative tasks and documentation related to federal income tax returns and estimated payments. The position is also responsible for the preparation of entry level 1120 proforma returns and supporting workpapers. The position will require working in various software packages, primarily Excel and Corptax, with an emphasis on data extraction, data input and data review.
Major Responsibilities:
- Preparation of entry level Federal 1120 proforma returns, related schedules, and calculation of book/tax differences.
- Assist tax seniors with data entry, data export, and analysis related to larger entities included in the company's consolidated federal return.
- Preparation, assembly, and assistance in presentation of data needed to resolve notices received by the company.
- Estimated quarterly payment documentation and payment requests.
- Administrative duties such as creating mailing packages for estimated payments and notices, and document organization within OneSource workflow.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a student at a 4-year university with at least 2 years of accounting classes.
- Position is remote except for occasional trips to Richmond, VA
- Entry level knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Entry level knowledge of corporate tax
- Excel experience
