General Summary
The Tax Director will direct and oversee Advarra's tax policies and objectives and ensures that all tax related matters are handled in a timely and accurate manner.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for transfer pricing planning and studies
Provide strategic direction, technical guidance, and leadership to the Finance team
Partner and manage the relationship with external tax advisors
Reviews tax returns and related documents to ensure compliance with federal, state and international laws, property taxes as well as sales and use taxes.
Works closely with FP&A to provide tax rates for budgets and forecasts
Develop accurate forecast and sensitivity analysis for tax expense and cash taxes to be paid in the future
Advises top management of the impact of new tax laws and proposed legislation
Pursues refunds, credits and incentives as the company moves into new markets or new locations to maximize tax benefits to the company
Manage the preparation and review tax provisions and various tax computations
Oversee preparation of worldwide transfer pricing documentation, including master file, local files, and country by country reporting
Recognize complex technical tax issues, perform research and analysis to support management decision-maki
Develop federal and state tax planning ideas
Manage U.S. international tax compliance process, including subpart F income, GILTI, foreign tax credits, and expense allocations.
Lead the tax M&A diligence, structuring and post integration efforts
Other duties as required
Job Requirement
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
CPA license in good standing
Experience
7 years relevant experience in tax
Experience leading teams preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Experience in fast-paced environment, highly driven with the ability to conduct multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong command of U.S. federal tax, international tax systems and OECD positions relating to cross border service arrangements and related compliance needs. Extensive technical knowledge regarding tax planning, accounting, and financial reporting issues globally
Demonstrated ability to identify potential tax issues and exposures, establish an effective mitigation plan and influence senior management regarding risks and exposures
Experience leading complex tax structures
Experience in transfer pricing and intercompany structures
Individual contributor but willing to teach/mentor
Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Driven professional to ensures deadlines are met sooner rather than later
Attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture
Work effectively in a professional team environment
Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects, especially long-term
Ability to manage priorities and workflow and reassign as necessary
Experience mentoring and training more junior level team members
Able to manage multiple complex projects and deliver in a timely manner
Physical and Mental Requirements
Sit or stand for extended periods of time at stationary workstation
Regularly carry, raise, and lower objects of up to 10 Lbs.
Learn and comprehend basic instructions
Focus and attention to tasks and responsibilities
Verbal communication; listening and understanding, responding and speaking
