Tax Advisor

Stevens Foster Financial Advisors is a Bloomington, MN-based wealth management firm offering comprehensive financial planning & tax services to high-net-worth individuals and corporate executives. We’re looking for a full time Tax Advisor to join our team.

Our Tax Associates work closely with our Client Account Managers to assist in servicing our clients’ needs. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing individual, fiduciary, entity, and gift tax returns and generating tax planning strategies for our clients.

Other responsibilities include tax research, legislative and regulatory monitoring, presentation of complex strategies to clients and their account managers, and assuring the quality of our tax deliverables.

Responsibilities include:

• Facilitate and manage the preparation of and review client individual income, trust, gift, and entity tax returns timely and accurately.
• Collaborate with other members of the tax and planning teams on general planning strategies for our clients.
• Present or support presentation of complex tax strategies and issues to clients.
• Prepare and review quarterly/yearly tax projections.
• Collaborate and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
• Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.
• Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures.
• Research, summarize & communicate tax matters, including legislative and tax law changes and developments.
• Manage and facilitate IRS/state income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Individual, fiduciary, and estate tax knowledge and understanding.
• 3+ years’ experience in a tax position or public accountant role.
• CPA preferred.
• Knowledge of tax software/tools preferred: BNA, Lacerte, RIA Checkpoint, TaxBook, and MS Office.
• Excellent follow-up and follow-through capabilities.
• Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential client information.
• Accuracy, reasonable speed, and attention to detail.
• Desire and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively and prioritize.

Job Type: Full-time, on site with remote options
