As the Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Tasting Room and restaurant, ensuring excellent customer service, and managing our team to deliver a high-quality experience for our guests.
Restaurant experience is a MUST! Winery experience is a huge plus!
Tasting Room Manager Job Duties:
- Recruit, interview, hire and train wine hosts, bar backs and host/hostess staff.
- Interact with guests and wine club members to develop loyalty and handle customer concerns.
- Contribute to creating wine and food menus.
- Ensure staff is following all food control and safety regulations
- Maintain winery wait system during peak season
- Coordinate & execute special events and wine dinners
- Ensure Tasting Room bar is profitable by analyzing sales, current trends, staffing and places for improvement
- Develop new promotions for the bar
- Help meet or exceed budgeted financial targets
- Maintains operations policies and standard operating procedures
- Maintains patron satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food, beverage, and service offerings, initiating improvements.
- Building relationships with preferred patrons.
- Maintains safe and healthy facility environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with health and legal regulations; maintaining maintenance and general operations of the restaurant.
- Work closely with our chef, winemaker, and wine club manager to reach goals within the Tasting Room.
- Responsible for wine inventory with the Tasting Room
Tasting Room Manager Skills and Qualifications:
Managers must be versed in running a restaurant/wine bar, managing employees, and ensuring profitability. They need certain skills and experience, which include:
- Great interpersonal, communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to hire, train, manage and schedule staff.
- Extensive knowledge of wine, wine-bar tending and service protocols
- Alcohol awareness training is recommended.
- Solid organizational skills and facility with budgets, inventories and negotiating prices with vendors.
- Great sales skills and talent for developing promotions or new products
- Eye for detail within the Tasting Room
