Tasting Room Associate

Responsabilites

• Serving tasting flights, glasses of wine, and bottles of wine
• Being knowledgeable about winery background and history as well as wines offered for sale
• Properly checking ID's and observing ABC rules and regulations
• Maintaining cleanliness in the Tasting Room, bathroom, kitchen, and outdoor seating areas
• Stocking wine on the shelves and bringing wine from the winery to the tax room
• Running and emptying the dishwasher
• Taking cash and credit card payments on an i pad or phone using the Go Payment system
• Keeping track of bottles opened and items sold on an inventory sheet
• Respond to inquiries on our web site and by phone
• Update our Facebook, Instagram and web site pages with photos and news about events at the winery
• Plan and implement events to attract more visitors to the winery

Qualifications

• Experience in the wine industry is preferred but a desire to learn and be in the business is very important
• At least 21 years of age
• Ability to work holidays and weekends
• Ability to lift and carry a case of wine (50lbs) and to stand for at least 6 hours
• Basic computer skills
• Confident and outgoing, able to provide excellent customer service

About us

We are a small boutique winery on the Monticello Wine Trail owned by a husband-wife team who live on the vineyard property a short distance from the Tasting Room. We are always available to help out when needed. One person can usually handle all the traffic in our intimate Tasting Room. No large buses or groups can visit. Candidates must be friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic about meeting people and sharing their passion and knowledge about Virginia wine. Our guests become friends. Establishing rapport is essential.
