Mark Ryan Winery is hiring and Tasting Room and Events Coordinator to join our growing team!
Mark Ryan Winery produces limited quantities of highly sought-after wines, selected intentionally for their merit and potential. Since our first vintage in 1999, we have grown our MRW team to now include 4 Tasting Rooms, a production facility in Walla Walla, and a main office in Woodinville, WA. Today, the Mark Ryan family of wines includes a growing lineup of high-quality wines with exceptional quality and value including Mark Ryan Winery label, Board Track Racer, Megan Anne Pinot Noir, Lu & Oly, Numbskull, and the Underground Wine Project.
This is a full-time position. This position will mainly work during Tasting Room hours, including evenings and weekends.
What your day-to-day on our team will look like:
- Develop comprehensive event proposals, including budgets, timelines, and creative concepts.
- Source and negotiate with vendors, including venues, caterers, entertainment, and technical support.
- Coordinate all logistical aspects of events, including but not limited to venue setup, catering arrangements, transportation, and audiovisual requirements.
- Create and maintain detailed event schedules and timelines to ensure seamless execution.
- Coordinate with our DTC team to stay up to date on upcoming club promotion opportunities and club release events.
- Oversee event setup and breakdown, ensuring that all aspects of the event run smoothly and according to plan.
- Manage on-site event staff, including vendors, contractors, and event staff.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to assess event success and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in event planning and management.
- Assist the Tasting Room Manager in daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, staff scheduling, and inventory management.
- Provide excellent customer service to guests, including conducting wine tastings, answering questions, and making wine recommendations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Tasting Room, including tasting bars, retail displays, and outdoor areas.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering wine, merchandise, and supplies.
What you need to be successful in this position:
- Previous experience in the wine industry, hospitality, or event management.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a genuine passion for creating memorable experiences for guests.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Proven experience in event planning and coordination, preferably in a similar role.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
This is a salaried position offering $55,000-$65,000 a year.
