As we continue to grow, we are currently seeking a Tank Lead Drafting Checker.
ROLE: Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) LeaderRESPONSIBILITIES:Drive EHS compliance & performance improvements in the design process
Expectations:

• Be knowledgeable of all EHS code requirements (API/OSHA/NFPA/etc..) and consistently incorporate them into the design packages produced.
• Drive the advancement of our EHS culture by taking an active part in reinforcing corporate EHS initiatives.
• Take an active part in implementation of lessons learned as they pertain to design/drafting standards.

ROLE: Tank Lead Drafting Checker
RESPONSIBILITIES: Successfully support TANCO's technical manager, project managers (PM), shop and field crews in terms of design/drafting support
Expectations:

• Be self-sufficient with the ability to perform a wide range of tasks with minimum supervision.
• Fully check and sign off on all drafting drawings, layout work, and BOMs, for accuracy and in compliance with client specifications. Store and file all check prints and back check all work from drafting updates.
• Coach drafting team in areas where improvement is needed based on checking results.
• Be a technical expert on API 650/653/620, AWWA D100, OSHA, NFPA, etc.
• Manage and delegate TANCO's drafting priorities with the Technical Manager with an emphasis on meeting PMs drafting deadlines.
• Control transmittal and release of all documentation to appropriate parties (PMs, client, field, and shop). Receive, review, and direct drafting for redlines received. Communicate holds in fabrication when needed, based on necessary revisions.
• Answer questions from the field Foreman concerning code issues (drawing discrepancies, weld spacing, material types, etc).
• Support TANCO's shop manager with posting burn table drawings, as needed.
• Support Technical Manager with development of automated programs for improvement in drafting productivity.
• Be willing to occasionally support with drafting when department is bottle necked.
• Assist management with developing after-hour and weekend drafting schedules when we cannot keep up with meeting drawing deadlines.
• Assist management with doing yearly performance review on members of the drafting team.
• Have a mastered understanding of API 650/653 tank CAD drawing development and layout work.
• Have sound math skills to properly calculate different geometry and trigonometry parameters, without the reliance of CAD layout.
• Be flexible to accommodate critical deadlines with additional hours (overtime) whenever the need arises.
• Have 15+ years experience in 2-D Drafting Software, with a preference in Autocad.
• Be proficient in the use and development of excel spreadsheets. An understanding of macro program development is a plus.
• Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to and work in harmony with field/shop personnel, management and the administrative staff.

Compensation: $1.00 per hour
