Tank Farm Operator

Introduction:

SeaGate Terminals is a premier warehouse and logistics provider with locations in Chesapeake, VA and Savannah, Ga. SeaGate specializes in material handling of bulk and containerized goods with a specific focus on the individual needs of our customers. Each location has deep-water, direct Class I rail, and highway access.

The Tank Farm Operator is responsible for loading and unloading trucks and railcars.

Job Responsibilities:
- Be at the designated work station and ready to work at the start of the business day
- Operate equipment properly and in a safe manner
- Load trucks and/or railcars efficiently and timely
- Prepare and process appropriate documentation
- Follow any checklists and documentation required for loading and unloading trucks and/or rail cars
- "Tag Out" any equipment that is in need of maintenance
- Perform other duties as assigned by management related to the Tank Farm

Expectations:
- Work safe and incident free
- Wear necessary/required personal protection equipment
- Represent the company in a professional manner
- Establish and maintain good customer relations with drives and customers and treat them in a respectful manner
- Ensure the safety and well-being of drivers and customers while on company property
- Report any problems or situations immediately to the supervisor for prompt and appropriate resolution

Qualifications:
- Previous experience with chemicals preferred
- Previous experience loading and unloading trucks and rail cars preferred
- Ability to prepare and process documentation

- Proficiency with Microsoft Word & Excel
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
