Position Summary:

LEO Events is seeking a Talent & People Manager to join our growing Human Resources department and play a crucial role in enhancing our organizational capabilities through effective talent management and people development.

The Talent and People Manager will be responsible for driving our company forward by demonstrating a sales and customer service-focused approach to recruitment, ensuring we attract and retain top talent. This role requires a proactive leader who can also foster a positive culture, facilitate professional development, and support our new employees through their journey at LEO Events. The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a difference, nurturing talent, and building a supportive and dynamic workplace.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the company’s current and future talent needs through recruitment:

o Build and maintain collegiate relationships to support talent development and industry growth through college career fairs and meet and greets.

o Attend meeting and event industry events to gain an in-depth understanding of industry roles and network within these circles and LinkedIn.

o Collaborate with hiring managers to craft clear, concise, and attractive job descriptions that align with our company's values and attract the right candidates.

  • Support new employees through their first 90 days, ensuring they have the resources, support, and guidance needed to succeed.
  • Support professional development programs and succession plans to prepare employees for career advancement.
  • Design and deliver training programs that address the needs of the organization and its employees, enhancing skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to formalize a mentorship program that stretches across all departments of the organization.
  • Build relationships and lead by example in positive mentorship, offering listening, coaching, and counseling to support personal and professional growth.
  • Cultivate a positive company culture that encourages innovation, inclusivity, and teamwork.
  • Attend client programs as requested.
  • Travel as needed to Nashville, Chattanooga, and Asheville offices and available to work remotely on nights and weekends if applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in Human Resources

Competencies:

  • Strategic thinking to anticipate future talent needs and to align with the company’s goals.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to reach all levels of the organization, potential talent, and external partners.
  • Able to build strong relationships with leadership, employees, and other key stakeholders.
  • Highly computer proficient with capability in email, MS Office, and related business and communication tools.

Environmental Conditions and Physical Demands:

Employee required to spend a portion of time remaining in a seated position looking at a computer screen. Employee will be required to do some standing and walking. Employee will be in a well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
