01/26/2024The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) has a TaC - MTSS/Mathematics vacancy within our Innovative Educational Services Division. This position will be based out of our office in Downingtown, PA.
The CCIU provides services to the 12 school districts in Chester County. This includes services to nearly 86,000 public and non-public school students and over 6,000 educators. The Chester County Intermediate Unit is one of 29 regional educational agencies established by law in Pennsylvania in 1971. Working between the Pennsylvania State Department of Education and the local school districts, the Intermediate Unit's mission is to provide services that can be offered most economically at the regional level.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) & Mathematics Consultant is a member of an energetic team specializing in providing support to educators in school districts, charter schools, non-public schools, and IU programs. The MTSS/Mathematics Consultant is responsible for creating, facilitating, and evaluating professional learning experiences and technical assistance support services in Chester County and beyond. This position is primarily project-based and requires the development, coordination, and implementation of various initiatives such as PDE statement-of-work programs, school administrator Act 45 courses, CCIU pilot programs, and action research projects.
This position also requires knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), PDE regulations and mandates, and Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN) activities and initiatives. Additionally, the position requires knowledge of current research in relevant professional learning frameworks, an understanding of how to apply research to increase student achievement in face-to-face, blended, and online settings, and the ability to develop quality programs and services that integrate meaningful and relevant research into a variety of educational settings.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Support training and technical assistance work in the area of PDE Initiatives throughout Chester County and at the state level as needed.
  2. Prepare and facilitate professional learning opportunities for Chester County educational agencies on multi-tiered systems of support and mathematics through the lens of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  3. Ability to provide MTSS & Mathematics support to district staff through observations, consultations, guided practice, and/or recommendations related to the MTSS needs of school buildings, grade level teams or individual students, matching program methodologies to student need.
  4. Assist the district in developing expertise among team members to ensure the implementation of evidence-based practices including a process for evaluation and continuous improvement planning.
  5. Integrate high-quality instructional materials and activities with existing programs.
  6. Develop strategies for helping schools translate information generated by state accountability and assessment programs into improved practice.
  7. ?Collaborate with other CCIU staff members to coordinate existing programs and promote cooperative activities and projects.
  8. Collaborate with other intermediate units, colleges, universities, and educational agencies to provide quality-training programs, technical assistance, and consultative services to meet assessed needs.
  9. Organize, coordinate, and conduct specialized programs such as Act 45 courses, school pilot programs, and action research.
  10. Assume other responsibilities as requested by the Director and his/her designee.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
  • Master's degree in education required
  • PDE Instructional II in related content area required (ex. PK-4, 4-8 mathematics, 7-12 mathematics, special education)
  • PDE Instructional II in Special Education PK-12, preferred
  • PA Instructional Coaching Endorsement, preferred

Salary 2023 - 2024 School Year:
  • $57,379 to $89,997 - Instructional II Certification
  • $61,041 to $98,278 - Master's Degree
  • $63,691 to $102,147 - Master's +15
  • $66,079 to $103,999- Masters + 30
*candidates are placed on the salary scale based on direct classroom teaching experience
