Tableau/PowerBI Developer | Remote | Contract
The Select Group is seeking a Tableau/PowerBI Developer to join a top banking client. This consultant will serve as part of the Risk team that upholds FRM Standards (Financial Risk Manager) and will work with RAS-KI (Risk and Appetites Statement Key Indicators) tied to risk reporting.
In addition to understanding risk management within a financial services institution, this position will require a solid knowledge of automation, data management, and data quality best practices to support risk management functions (e.g. issues management, risk reporting etc.), and the success of the First Line of Defense risk capabilities. You will support the vision, goals, and requirements for a First Line of Defense risk data, tooling and automation strategy and roadmap, while building strong relationships with various partners including Risk Governance and Reporting, Technology, LOB risk officers, etc. Provide subject matter expertise related to data, risk tools, and automation using data and technology, and enhance program monitoring techniques to enable a proactive and “no surprises” approach in communicating emerging risks and issues.

Project Details:
Define risk expertise so that the process is smoother and cleaner with risk clients. This person will need to know how to build out data inputs that individuals calculate with RAS-KI reports, take live data feeds to calculate RAS-KI on any given day, and create visualized reports in Tableau.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience designing and building out of risk management data, tools, and automation systems within First Line of Defense to support risk management capabilities within a Financial Services Institution.
- 3+ years development experience with Power BI & Tableau.
- Experience in Informatica for ETL.
- Experience in SQL (for standard queries and views).
- Bachelor’s Degree.
Responsibilities:
- 6+ years of experience designing and build out of risk management data, tools, and automation systems within the First Line of Defense to support risk management capabilities within a financial services institution
- Proven ability to correlate and analyze risk data from disparate sources
- Strong data mining capabilities for analyzing existing risk data and providing recommendations
- Experienced in application of mathematical and analytical libraries to measure data model’s performance
- Be a strong influencer and consensus builder with a positive attitude, who motivates those around.
- Be a strategic, analytical thinker with experience in working seamlessly in a matrixed organization, asking thoughtful questions, applying structured approach to complex problems to synthesize information, and communicate in concise manner.
- Track record of successful participation in defining data, tooling, and/or automation strategies and executing on them
- Understanding of business strategy, critical success factors, risk profile, and potential exposures
- Demonstrated ability to quickly build trust and relationships, manage matrixed teams, bridge communication gaps, resolve conflicts, and influence stakeholders at all levels (including executives)
- Ability to multitask with simultaneous projects and tasks, while demonstrating urgency, prioritization, and ownership to drive issues to completion
