Movement of product, storage, shipping, and handling.
In this position you will have the opportunity to:
- Complete daily pre-inspection on forklift and service as needed.
- Responsible for being aware of product size being ran on each shift.
- Communicating with operator and strapper on date of production and board size being feed into infeed conveyor.
- Responsible for visually inspecting and keeping blanks fed into the infeed conveyor for sanding and packaging.
- Responsible for pulling bad boards out of the unit before feeding into the infeed conveyor.
- Responsible for visually inspecting units for Package Appearance Specification before storing in the warehouse.
- Responsible for the taking packaged units off the outfeed conveyor and for storage of the packaged units in the warehouse according to sizes.
- Responsible for downgrading and reworking units before shift end.
- Responsible for accurately counting and tagging any boards that are left on the rail dock and leave instructions.
- Communicating with T&G Operator on any downgraded boards for documentation before shift ends.
What do I need to be successful?
- Assist with daily operations when needed such as sander belt change out, saw change out, paint tote and stamp ink tote replacement
- Replenishing shrouds and sticks daily.
- Perform daily housekeeping such as picking up your sticks, recycling broken sticks and emptying hoppers and sweeping by shift end.
- Assist in bag house maintenance and bag change outs as needed.
- Assist with T&G maintenance such as greasing, paint booth cleaning, filter change out, filter cleaning, blowing down and sweeping.
- May be asked to assist production crew during down time.
- Cross train with Strapper and T&G Operators.
- Complete paperwork as required.
- Any additional duties assigned by Supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of simple equipment operation.
- Knowledge of general equipment maintenance.
- Time management skills.
- Demonstrated mechanical ability.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.
Education:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Experience:
- 3 - 6 months experience.
- Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
