Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineeras this position will support the USAF Family of Advanced Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) Terminal (FAB-T) program office, which is within the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications Directorate (NC3), Nuclear Strategic Communications Division (NCS) and located at Hanscom AFB, MA.

LOCATION:  Hanscom AFB, MA

JOB STATUS:  Full time; salaried

RESPONSBILITIES:  

• Plan and conduct Systems Engineering, engineering analyses, trade studies and feasibility assessments in support of Systems Engineering activities.
• Perform program reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, Systems Engineering programs, design and test results to assure that required. subsystem and system performance is achieved. 
• Participate in system design and architecture development of tactical datalink communication systems.
• Prepare technical documents which define, specify, and recommend system/subsystem characteristics.
• Review and provide technical comments on tactical data link specifications and interface documents.
• Conduct technical investigations in systems design.
• Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with AF SEAM processes.
• Support Program Management Reviews (PMR), Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM), Test Meetings.
• Perform engineering drawing reviews for conformance with requirements, specifications, regulations, and quality control.
• Provide system engineering solutions based on systems analyses, advanced technology processing techniques, engineering research, and evaluation of all aspects of system engineering.
• Develop technical reports, make recommendations to Project/Program leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) and 10 years of experience (5 years DoD), or 15 years of directly related experience (8 years DoD)
• Proficient Microsoft office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project.
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, providing quality acquisition and program documentation (briefings, documents, plans, etc.)
• Familiarity with principles, policies and practices of systems acquisition and program management, as defined in DoDI 5000.02 and AFI 63-101/20-101
• Candidate MUST have an active US security clearance.
