We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems Engineer to work as a contractor to the Federal Government. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems in accordance with federal government regulations and requirements.
The candidate will provide SETA support cooperatively with Government, FFRDC, and other SETA contractors. Candidate should be knowledgeable in the areas of Systems Engineering, strategic acquisition and either ground systems, space systems or mission operations. The candidate's responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that all technical aspects of the system are integrated and functioning properly;
- Providing day-to-day collaboration with Government, FFRDC, SETA, developers, and mission partners;
- Conducting enterprise and system-level architecture and design analysis, trade studies;
- Documenting the development and technical specifications based on customer needs / requirements to include flow-down and traceability;
- Establishing and maintaining systems interface documents, linking together the operational and systems architecture models;
- Providing technical recommendations and engineering solutions on the development and integration of new and modified capabilities;
- Conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation plans;
- Developing and implementing system enterprise test plans to ensure that the system meets the Government's requirements; and
- Staying current with emerging technologies, trends, and regulations to ensure that the system remains up-to-date and compliant with Government requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph;
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 7 years or more experience;
- Experience in engineering and/or acquisition of Intelligence Community (IC) and/or DoD spacecraft systems;
- Knowledge of IC and/or DoD acquisition roles, processes, and/or program management; recent NRO experience preferred;
- Domain knowledge in ground software, space development or mission operations;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's STEM degree
- Advanced degree
- Experience with Modeling Based Systems Engineering
- Experience with IC and/or DoD space and ground architectures
- Experience working within or closely with the customer's Acquisition Offices
