Job description

NOTE: The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued new requirements for health care and congregant care facilities to decrease the risk of COVID-19 outbreaks. Based on the CDPH public health mandate, all candidates for positions at Edgewood Center must provide proof of vaccination. Edgewood Center will consider applicants with ADA and Title VII exemptions on a case-by-case basis.

Position: Systems and Security Administrator- this is a full-time, exempt position, Mon-Fri.,9am-5pm,onsite at our San Francisco campus.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the IT Director, works as a member of the Information Technology (IT) team to support and maintain the computing/cloud/telecommunications environment by identifying system and Security requirements and monitoring system performance; manages and troubleshoots the network, cloud, phone and voicemail systems; maintains, monitors, and upgrades business Systems and email; creates and maintains security, backup and recovery of agency information; assesses and identifies appropriate solutions for integration and implementation.
Essential Functions
• Accomplishes agency goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Establishes system specifications and maintains system performance by conferring with users and by analyzing workflow, access, information, and Security requirements, designs system infrastructure.
• Assumes leadership role in planning and executing the design, installation, configuration, and testing of PC and server hardware, software, LAN networks, and enterprise management systems.
• Documents and assists in defining system and operations policies and procedures.
• Develops, maintains, and monitors procedures for the backup of all business-critical systems; establishes and tests disaster recovery policies and procedures.
• Monitors, plans, and coordinates the distribution of client/server software, service packs, and critical updates.
• Makes recommendations for new equipment and services; works with vendors for procurement.
• Secures agency network and systems by developing system access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; monitors and manages network and system security utilizing centralized security solutions.
• Performs 2nd Tier technical support for on-site and remote locations.
• Analyzes, resolves, and coordinates resolution of telecommunications problems; supports PBX, fax and voicemail server hardware and software.
• Provides technical information and support to a diverse staff in multiple locations in San Francisco and San Mateo counties.
• Informs and educates Departmental staff on procedures for accessing agency information and systems.
• Supports, installs, and maintains all agency systems – including homegrown, proprietary, and third-party solutions.
• Sensitivity to the cultural diversity of employees and clients.
• Installing, administering, and troubleshooting server, network, and cloud security solutions.
• Updating software with the latest security patches and ensuring the proper defenses are present for each network resource.
• Performing vulnerability and penetration tests, identifying, and defending against threats, and developing disaster recovery plans.
• Configuring security systems, analyzing security requirements, and recommending improvements.
• implement cloud architecture and design requirements, manage operational and compliance issues, and handle cloud data, applications, and infrastructure security.
• Monitoring network traffic for suspicious behavior.
• Creating network policies and authorization rules and defending against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction.
• Consulting with staff, managers, and executives about the best security practices and providing technical advice.
• Configuring and supporting security tools, such as firewalls and anti-virus software.
• Training staff to understand and use security protocols.
Applied Knowledge, Skills and Abilities and Qualifications
• B.S. in Computer Science and minimum 2 years of experience in a related technical field or 5 years equivalent experience and certification in specified field.
• Security+, Microsoft Certified in Azure or Cisco CCNP Security Professional desired.
• Must have experience with Okta, Microsoft 365 Products, DUO, Cisco AnyConnect, Cisco FTD, AirWatch, Ninja RMM, ServiceNow, Hyper-V and VMware.
• Extensive knowledge of server hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows Server 2016, 2019,2022)
• Extensive knowledge of Windows Active Directory, Group Policy, ACLs, logon scripts
• Knowledge of PC hardware, software, and operating systems (Win2k, Windows 10/11, Mac OS)
• Understanding of telephone systems/PBX and VOIP technologies
• Able to install and configure hardware, software, and LANs.
• Thorough understanding of SASE or Network Topology and Security
• Extended application skills in using Sophos X MDR Anti-Virus, Cisco Umbrella, Cisco FTD Firewall
• Knowledge of common IT protocols, including TCP/IP, FTP, DNS, HTTPS, and others, and printer technology i.e., Paper Cut.
• Handle multiple projects as well as daily responsibilities with minimal Supervision.
• Follow appropriate policies and procedures in addressing client needs.
• Appropriately prioritize competing demands; analyze and resolve complex technical problems.
• Communicate effectively with clients.
• Write clearly and effectively document technical problems and their solutions.
• Excellent Computer skills
• Take ownership and complete assigned tasks with attention to detail
The salary range for this position is: $90,000-$93,600.
