Synthetic Chemist

Gene Tools is an established small biotechnology company which supplies our customers with custom made phosphorodiamidate morpholino oligomers. Gene Tools has supplied customers from all around the globe with Morpholinos from our manufacturing facility in Philomath Oregon for over 25 years.

Gene Tools is seeking a full-time organic chemist to assist with the synthesis and purification of chemical compounds for our production.

An applicant should have,

-A master’s degree in organic chemistry or a related field.

-Excellent record keeping skills.

-2 years industrial experience with organic chemistry.

-Practical experience with silica gel column chromatography.

Primary responsibilities:

Synthesizing chemical compounds for production at gram scale to 100-gram scale

Purifying chemical compounds with column chromatography

Assisting subunit chemist with subunit activation and purification

Complying with hazardous waste protocols

Secondary responsibilities:

Assist in the development of new products based on customer requests.

Starting Salary range:

$70,000-$80,000
