Summary

We are now hiring Lifeguard/Swim Instructors for the Monday - Friday morning shifts at the newly opened Rogue Credit Union Community Complex (Rogue X)!
The aquatic center at Rogue X includes:
  • An indoor recreation pool
  • A 13-lane competition pool
  • Water slides
  • A lazy river
  • Indoor water play features with beach entry
  • Outdoor splash pad

  • Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM

  • $17.52 non-certified
  • $18.02 certified or previously certified
What is needed to get started?
  • You need to be 16 years or older at time of hire.
  • Graduation from High School or have GED equivalent; or are currently enrolled in High School or equivalent and on track for graduation.
  • Be able to swim and have basic knowledge of swimming techniques.
  • Love working with and around children and able to work as part of a team.
  • Have willingness and ability to work in a warm environment.

Do I need to be certified before applying?
No!
  • We will certify you once you are hired!

Is the work schedule flexible?
Yes!
  • This is a part-time year-round position where you can be scheduled up to 20 hours a week.
  • Rogue X will be open 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM, at various times with multiple programs running throughout the day Monday through Friday.
  • Schedules may vary in order to provide services for swim lessons, open swim, aquatic rentals and special events.

Examples of Job Duties
These duties are a representative example; position assignments may vary depending on the business needs of the department and organization. This position:
  • Conduct swim lesson classes for various ages and skill levels.
  • Evaluate swim participants at the end of each season.
  • Lifeguard during open swims, lap swims, aquatic rentals and special events.
  • Work to prevent injuries and water rescue situations through the enforcement of policies, rules and regulations governing the conduct of guests using the aquatic center.
  • Follow emergency action plan in the event of an emergency.
  • Provide emergency care/treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
  • Assist with checking in/out patron's personal items.
  • Perform hourly pool water chemical tests.
  • Assist patrons with putting on life jackets.
  • Attend and participate in all staff trainings and meetings.
  • Assists in the clean-up of the entire pool facility.
  • Cautions and educates swimmers against dangerous situations.
  • Enforce the rules and regulations of the pool and protect misuse and vandalism.
  • Be proficient with the emergency procedures and department polices at the aquatic center.
  • Relate to the general public in a positive manner.
  • Adheres to safety practices and standards when performing all duties.
  • Upholds the values of the organization and has strong customer service orientation.
  • Must have the ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace.
  • Foster an environment that embraces diversity, integrity, trust, and respect.
  • Be an integral team player, which involves flexibility, cooperation, and communication.
  • Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
