JOB DESCRIPTION
Status: Seasonal, Full-Time/Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Responsibility: Low Level of Supervision needed. High Level of Operational decision making
Reports to: Guest Services Manager, Concierge Supervisor
Supervises: Lifeguards
Skills:
Excellent Administrative Skills - use of technology, verbal and written communication, business correspondence, organization, time management.

Excellent Swimming Skills - adapting to water temperature, diving, swimming in open water, controlling breathing to achieve maximum speed.
Excellent Swimming Instruction Skills - be able to perform sport, know the rules, give instructions or lessons.
Excellent Safety Skills - Observe safety rules, safely operate equipment, food safety consciousness, CPR and First Aid. Water Safety Instructor or Lifeguard Certification from the Red Cross or equivalent.
Effort: High - Walk and stand for extended periods of time. Activities will often involve running, jumping, swimming. Bend, reach, push, pull, lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
Work Conditions: Level 4 - Often outdoors, working in hot/cold environment, inclement weather, variable schedule based on business demands, often duties require working with hazards.
Duties:
Performs various duties related to the safe and clean operation of the Wianno Club Beach, including, but not limited to traditional lifeguard duties.
Manage operation of aquatics facilities, activities, swimming programs and department staff.
Life guarding beach areas during assigned schedule.
Oversee the organization, administration, and evaluation of the aquatics programs and facilities.
Recommend changes to existing aquatic programs as needed.
Conduct various aquatic entertainments and activities to attract more swimmers.
Aquatics supervisor will assist scheduling lifeguards with Guest Services Manager in order to always ensure appropriate coverage based on daily business demand.
Alertness to safety conditions is paramount. Lifeguards must remain alert and independent of one another.
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of beach area
Collect all refuse and dispose of properly.
At the end of each day, ensure that all beach equipment is cleaned and sanitized as necessary at the end of each day. Chairs and lounges to be stacked or aligned in orderly fashion.
Assist beach users with chairs, umbrellas, etc.
Be especially helpful to aged or handicapped beach users in the navigation of stairs, etc.
Lifeguards will be responsible for participating in weekly drills at the direction of the Outer Cape Ocean Rescue Coordinator.
Assure that lifeguards do not congregate in groups of two or more for anything other than lifeguard related matters and must remain standing during conduct of that business.
